Transit Stores
According to Uruguayan law, any ship or yacht flying a foreign flag (as well as certain
national vessels) is permitted to load any “Transit Stores” such as: equipment, fittings,
safety items, navigational instruments, spares and so forth.
As Registered Shipchandlers (before Customs, Coast Guard and Port Authority) we are
entitled to perform such shipments at all Uruguayan Ports and Terminals:
La Paloma - Colonia - José Ignacio Terminal - Nueva Palmira - Punta del Este - Fray Bentos -
Piriápolis - Paysandú - Montevideo - Salto - Juan Lacaze. Also at the “Montevideo
Anchorage & Service Area”
Transit Stores are exempted of any taxes. Our fees correspond to compulsory paper
work, local transportation and Custom guard rates.
